Earlier this year, Nashville Republican state Sen. Steve Dickerson voted against one bill that allowed women to face jail time for drug use during pregnancy, and another that brought Tennessee’s electric chair out of storage. You’d think Tennessee Republicans would pay more attention to a legislator who is a practicing physician when he’s not on the Hill, but alas he was in the overwhelming minority in both votes. We noticed, though.
