Meet Steve

Steve Dickerson is a free enterprise Republican who loves Nashville and Tennessee. Steve first grew to love Tennessee when he attended college at the University of the South in Sewanee. Later, he received his medical degree at Wake Forest University which is also where he met the love of his life, his wife, Katrina.
Steve has over twenty years of experience as a practicing anesthesiologist and interventional pain management doctor. He has also served on the Board of Trustees of the Tennessee Medical Association, chaired the Board of the Middle Tennessee School of Medicine, served as president of the Tennessee Society of Anesthesiologists, and was elected chief of staff of two local hospitals.
There was no place where Steve would rather raise his family than in Tennessee. Steve and Katrina have three sons. He spends most of his time off being humbled by his sons in various video games and athletic endeavors. He has found his experience to be no match for their youthful athleticism and usually finishes fourth in most games.
Steve loves serving Music City and playing guitar himself. One of his great joys is sharing that love of music with his three sons as they each now pursue their own musical interest. Though he resembles James Taylor, Steve tries to meld the musical style of Eddie Van Halen with the coolness of Keith Richards when onstage. He won’t be quitting his day job anytime soon.
Steve has been proudly representing Tennesseans from District 20 in the Tennessee Senate since 2012. As the only elected Republican who resides in Davidson County, Steve is uniquely positioned to make Nashville’s voice heard in the General Assembly, and he’s asking the people of District 20 to send him back to the Senate to keep working for them. He chairs the Senate State & Local Government Committee and is the First Vice-Chair of the Senate Ethics Committee.
